HYROX

How we train for HYROX at CMC

Our HYROX sessions are split into specific focus days to ensure you are fully prepared for race day:

  • Monday: Run Focus – Building the aerobic capacity and running efficiency that makes up 50% of any HYROX race.

  • Wednesday: Ergs & Implements – Developing skill and efficiency on the machines and race movements, focusing on transitions and maintaining pace.

  • Friday: Strength – Building the structural foundation of the sport through compound lifts, carries, and accessory exercises for hypertrophy and injury prevention.

  • Saturday: HYROX Specific – High-volume, station-based training to build sustained work capacity.

  • Sunday: Free Run Club – Join us for a community-led session to help you get in the longer runs you need within a supportive group environment.

Periodised Training

We run periodised cycles specifically mapped to the major HYROX race dates across New Zealand and Australia. This ensures your volume and intensity are strategically adjusted throughout the year so you arrive at the start line feeling peaked and prepared.

We also run full HYROX simulations in the lead-up to races. Follow us on Instagram to keep up to date with these events!

Our classes are designed for all fitness levels. Whether you are a first-timer or a seasoned Pro, our coaches scale every movement and intensity level to match your current ability while ensuring you get the intended stimulus.
